Petrella, the First Lady of Country Soul. Petrella began her career as a singer/songwriter 23 years ago by creating a fusion of rhythm & blues and country music called Country-Soul. This inventive new sound landed Petrella on the Cover of Cash Box magazine and produced 5 singles that made it to the top 100 on the Country Music Charts with her latest single from the 100 Proof Woman CD going to Number 15 on the Billboard Hot Country single sales chart.
Petrella has performed on the Ernest Tubbs Midnight Jamboree radio show, has opened for Gladys Knight and has six nationally distributed CDs. Described as Tina Turner singing country music Petrella was introduced to the performing arts world 15 years ago when she performed a one-woman show while touring Theaters across the southwest.
Recently Petrella joined the Arkansas Arts on Tour Roster and the Mid America Arts Alliance roster and recreated the One woman show called “18 Reasons to Live Laugh and Love”. This 90 minute musical show combines Gospel, Rhythm & Blues and Country music in a highly entertaining and fast paced performance that tells the story of a African American women’s journey in the Country music business and has been performed at Theaters and for Arts Councils throughout the Mid-West. This year Petrella joined the Northwest Arts Tour and is bringing this show to the Pacific Northwest Region. Petrella currently resides in California and is writing and recording songs for her next CD project.
